About Me

Keeping you at the very heart of the celebration

A little bit of Northern Soul

It seems fitting to share with you a little about who I am and my story, because if we work together you will be sharing your love story with me.
Whilst growing up in a small village outside York I have spent many years living and working in London. As the years passed I found myself yearning for the calm and tranquillity of North Yorkshire so after a 3 month sabbatical in 2017 travelling around South East Asia with my husband Daniel we took a leap of faith and came home to York.

So far so good

Life is busy and active, but I love spending time with my family and friends, and we enjoy all the cultural and outdoor opportunities life in Yorkshire has to offer.

My garden has become my calm, creative happy place and whilst a relative novice I have loved watching our once weedy concreted back yard bloom and flourish.

My work plays an important part in who I am and what I believe. Having trained as a social worker I have spent the last 21 years working in Social Services supporting children and young people with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) hence the name TranSEND. I enjoyed a variety of roles from front line to managerial positions and in later years more strategic ventures before setting up TranSEND as a freelance trainer and consultant whilst also qualifying to be a independent celebrant.

The common thread between my work as a celebrant and as a social worker is people. In all aspects of my work people remain at heart of what I do, whether it is supporting a young person with a disability to find their voice or helping people to celebrate special life events in the way that is important to them.

What matters to you matters to me!
